Our Story

Family Owned Since 1932
In the 1900s John left Germany with his brother to make a new life in America. Passing through Ellis Island the two brothers made their way out west and after some time working the fields in eastern Oregon they found themselves in the Tualatin Valley. They saved their money and finally earned enough to buy property in Cornelius, Oregon.
In 1932, John established Jacobsmuhlen's Meats. While running the business, he and his wife raised a family, including their son, Harry, who eventually took over the business. Harry followed in his father's footsteps, running the business while he and his wife, Letha, raised three children who also spent much of their time working for the business.
After 50 years in the business, Harry decided it was time to hand the reins to his son, Larry, who is still the owner today. Larry is committed to upholding the honesty and integrity that his grandfather built the business on. It is something he instills in his son, Chad, who is currently the fourth generation business manager.
Today, we continue to specialize in custom butchering and packaging, wild game meat processing, and specialty smoked products.
